Flowton in Flower held every few years to showcase the amazing gardens and floristry skills in our little Suffolk village, but also raises money for the upkeep of St. Mary’s Church in Flowton. We have no other community building in the village so rely on the church to provide space for community events as well as church services, and this doesn’t come cheap! In addition, we choose to support another local charity – usually it is the food bank charity FIND (Families in Need Ipswich). FIND offers free of charge food, household items, furniture, nursery equipment and nappies, beds and bedding and, when available, cookers, washing machines and refrigerators. They are a Suffolk charity which supports all those in need, regardless of faith or circumstance.
Many of the Flowton residents support FIND by volunteering locally so this is a cause we happily raise money for.
