Simple country decorations for the cream tea marquee!
Cream teas and Ploughman’s lunches went down a treat – a lot to do with the marquee protecting us from the weather!
Inside the church was the Flower Festival (photos here) and the Local History Exhibition.
The Bottle Tombola was a roaring success – with a top prize of Champagne!
Friday evening premiered the gardens to the local residents who were busy all weekend. We enjoyed glorious sunshine and picking each other’s horticultural brains before the thunderstorms arrived at about 9pm! There was rain all weekend until 4.55pm on Sunday – five minutes before we closed. Despite this we have several hundred visitors who braved the elements.
We had a fabulous cake stall, plant stalls and a book stall, but top prize for most popular was Susan Skinner’s Jam and Craft stall, selling homemade jam and chutney at a rate of knots!!
